We had a fantastic stay at this beautiful home near Burley in the New Forest. The house was perfectly set up for families, with spacious, beautifully decorated rooms and a comfortable atmosphere. Everything was thoughtfully arranged, making it easy to relax and enjoy our time there.
The location was ideal—just a short distance from the town centre, which gave us easy access to lovely pubs and restaurants. From there, we enjoyed wonderful walks and scenic cycle rides through the New Forest countryside.
Overall, this was one of the best places we’ve stayed—peaceful, well-equipped, and in a perfect spot for exploring. We’d absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing and family-friendly getaway!

Perfect house in a lovely location for a family Christmas get-together, and nicely decorated for the ocassion. There was everything you could possibly need for self catering and the house was impeccably clean. Walks into the forest from the front door. Very secure for a dog too. All in all, it was perfect, and I would highly recommend.

Diane thank you so much for our lovely stay. The cottage is just as described, super homely and even had twinkly decorations for the festive period, how thoughtful! With two very young ones I hadn’t had much time to research the area so I was over the moon with the great location of the cottage. With pubs and small shops just around the corner and beautiful walks on our doorstep. On our final evening there were New Forest ponies eating just over the road from the back door and we watched them in the twilight, absolute magic. One of the most important things for my husband and I when choosing a place to stay is a good nights sleep and the beds here were super comfy so we were happy people all round!

We had a fantastic stay here. An amazing location and greatly equipped property with character.
Diane communicated well and provided us with some recommendations including the Three Tuns 10 minutes away which we visited one evening.

My children and I had a lovely stay at this very pretty new forest home. We were lucky to see pigs walking down the road as well as ponies and even came across a beautiful stag on our walk into the woods. Had everything we needed and enjoyed the local shops too.

A lovely cottage with great walks just the other side of the road. Wonderful enclosed back garden space perfect for young children or in our case a dog

A cosy cottage in the middle of the New Forest. Amazing location to explore the area, it was clean, really well equipped and felt like a home away from home. I would highly recommend this house.

A lovely 5 night stay was had by all. The cottage was very comfortable with everything we could possibly need. Beautiful forest walks with roaming horses and cows, literally on the door step. Was lovely being so close to the village for a mooch and a coffee and the ice cream stall by the "Village Store" is definitely worth a visit !! After a day exploring the local area, it was really nice to relax with a cuppa or glass of wine in the garden.

Lovely cottage - spacious, well equipped, easy parking. Nice size garden for children to play in with a sunny patio to sit out on. We had a fabulous time, the cottage is a minutes walk into Burley village itself, across the road from the cottage your straight into the forest. Good location to explore the rest of the New Forest from too. Highly recommend!

We had such a great family time at Helmsdale. The cottage really feels like a home away from home, it is very clean and has everything one needs for a comfortable stay. We already knew Burley and the location is perfect to explore locally or venture further into the New Forest and even get to the coast. Diane is a great host and was ready to help with anything we needed. We hope to be back soon!

This house is a perfect place to relax. We were very lucky with the weather so were able to sit out in the garden of an evening. It could not be better situated to go out for a walk to see the surrounding areas (and the ponies!) and the village centre was only a two minute walk away. The witching history of Burley is very interesting and we had fun poking about in the little shops. There were plenty of options for food and drinks - we even managed to get a takeaway delivered one night. The White Buck (20 mins walk) was fantastic for a Sunday roast. The house was clean and fully equipped - there was not a single item missing that we would have needed. I’d highly recommend this house if you are looking for a relaxing getaway or a base to explore the surrounding areas.

What a beautiful cottage, we had a fantastic stay here, the cottage had absolutely everything we could possibly need/want and it was absolutely immaculately clean.
Definitely plan to stay again and for longer next time as there is soo much to do in the local area and it’s a really beautiful part of the world

A wonderful and immaculate place to stay in the heart of the New Forest with plenty of space to relax and eat together as a family or group of friends. We stayed there for a long weekend and it was a great location from which to explore the beautiful New Forest. We had an awesome time and the host was welcoming and informative. Would definitely recommend this property for a New Forest break!

A lovely cottage and great location for exploring - we hired bikes, went horse riding and paddle boarding. Mudeford Quay, excellent for crabbing and the Ferry to Hengitsbury Head was a bonus.
